Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about ScoreUp Nepal and the DET.

What is the Duolingo English Test (DET)?

The DET is an online English proficiency test accepted by thousands of universities worldwide. It can be taken from home in about an hour and costs $65 USD.

How accurate are ScoreUp Nepal's mock exams?

Our mock exams use the same question types and scoring methodology (Item Response Theory) as the real DET. While no mock exam can guarantee your actual score, our tests provide a reliable estimate of your performance level.

What question types are included?

We include all 10 DET question types: Read and Complete, Read and Select, Listen and Type, Write About the Photo, Speak About the Photo, Read Aloud, Interactive Reading, Interactive Listening, Writing Sample, and Speaking Sample.

How does the AI feedback work?

For writing and speaking responses, our AI analyzes your answers across multiple criteria (grammar, vocabulary, coherence, task completion) and provides specific improvement suggestions with highlighted errors and corrected versions.

What payment methods do you accept?

We currently accept eSewa payments. Simply select a package, complete the eSewa payment, and your exam credits will be added to your account instantly.

How long are exam credits valid?

Exam credits are valid for 6 months from the date of purchase. Make sure to use them before they expire.

Can I practice specific question types?

Yes! Our Practice Mode lets you focus on individual question types. You can practice as many times as you want at no extra cost.

Is there a refund policy?

Unused credits can be refunded within 7 days of purchase. Once a credit has been used to start an exam, it cannot be refunded.

What score do I need for university admission?

Score requirements vary by university. Most universities require a score between 100-120, while competitive programs may require 125+. Check your target university's requirements.

Can I take the mock exam on mobile?

While our platform works on mobile devices, we recommend using a desktop or laptop for the best experience, as the real DET also requires a computer.
